Suppliers including Neusoft Zhixing, Huawei, GosuncnWelink, and LGE take the lead in the fast-growing 5G T-Box market.
Neusoft Zhixing is a pioneer in 5G T-Box. Based on 5G features, it integrates its self-developed V2X protocol stack (VeTalk) and focuses on high-profile functions such as V2X, Security, FOTA, ETC, DK, and Gigabit Ethernet, realizing deep integration of communication, computing, and security. Since 2021, Neusoft Zhixing's 5G/V2X BOX products have been mass-produced and launched on multiple strategic models of GWM, Hongqi, Geely, etc. Fully localized 4G/5G BOX solutions began mass production and delivery in 2025, and flat antenna solutions evolved from shark-fin smart antennas will be launched successively.
LGE, a representative foreign supplier, provides standalone and antenna-integrated 5G T-Box. Its standalone 5G T-Box supports 5G Rel 16 4x4 MIMO and NTN (Non-Terrestrial Networks) technologies; the antenna-integrated 5G T-Box adopts a shark-fin-free integrated design with a built-in communication system, seamlessly integrating with 5G, Wi-Fi, satellite communication, millimeter-wave, and other communication systems.
V2X (Vehicle-to-Everything) is a core technology of intelligent connected vehicles, and T-Box, as the core of in-vehicle communication, has become the mainstream carrier for C-V2X pre-installation. In February 2026, China Automotive Technology and Research Center (CATARC) issued the draft for comments of C-NCAP 2027 Edition, upgrading V2X from a bonus item to a core variable affecting vehicle safety ratings and adding multiple mandatory audit items, becoming a key policy driver for pre-installation and large-scale commercialization of C-V2X.
Key Changes to V2X-Related Rules:
Increased weight of active safety: The number of V2X test cases in the 2027 edition doubled from 3 in the 2024 edition to 6, and its score proportion in the active safety section rose from 8.93% to 12.69%.
Higher rating thresholds: The new regulation not only considers the overall score rate but also requires minimum score rates for each section. The minimum active safety score rate for five-star ratings increased from 70% to 80%, and for five-star plus from 85% to 90%.
More challenging test scenarios: On the basis of retaining original scenarios (e.g., CCRh, C2C SCPso), the new regulation tightened test conditions (e.g., shortened vehicle distance, stricter obstructions) and added scenarios mandatorily relying on V2X, such as Hazardous Vehicle Alert (HVA), Accident Vehicle Alert (AVA), and upgraded Signal Light Alert (SLA).
C-V2X+T-Box is the mainstream form of V2X deployment currently. By integrating V-Box and T-Box, it integrates 5G+LTE-V2X+WiFi+GNSS functions into one module, improving the fusion of V2X data and communication data while reducing costs. For example, 5G V2X T-Box is priced at around 2,000 yuan, about 20% lower than independent modules.
Suppliers including Neusoft Zhixing, Joynext, VanJee Technology, DIAS Automotive Electronic, and BDStar are stepping up layout in V2X T-Box.
Neusoft Zhixing owns a complete vehicle-road coordination solution and end-to-end C-V2X products. As an important formulator and industrialization promoter of C-V2X standards, it has deeply participated in the discussion and formulation of more than 50 C-V2X industry standards. Based on 5G features and integrating its self-developed V2X protocol stack (VeTalk), Neusoft Zhixing took the lead in developing and launching 4G/5G+V2X Box and achieved large-scale mass production.
Joynext launched the nVision 3A-5G+V2X integrated digital smart antenna solution for 5G and C-V2X demands, applicable to 17 V2V/V2I standard scenarios and OEM customized scenarios with Day2 scenario upgrade capability, making it one of the mainstream 5G V2X in-vehicle terminals in China.
As a lightweight 5G technology, RedCap has been reasonably simplified in bandwidth, antenna configuration, modulation mode, etc. While meeting basic IoV demands such as remote monitoring, OTA, and data upload, it effectively reduces chip and module costs, with lower power consumption and simpler hardware design. It achieves better cost performance and economic efficiency for large-scale deployment without compromising core service experience.
5G RedCap T-Box has a significant cost advantage over traditional 5G T-Box, reducing the hardware cost of a single terminal by about 20-30%. In 2025, 5G RedCap T-Box was mass-produced and pre-installed in vehicles, with the representative model being Chery iCAR V23. Models equipped with 5G RedCap T-Box retain 5G's core communication capabilities of low latency and high reliability while optimizing cost and power consumption, providing a cost-effective solution for popularizing 5G intelligent connectivity in mainstream models priced at 100,000-150,000 yuan.
Major suppliers of 5G RedCap T-Box include GosuncnWelink, Lan-You Technology, Jingwei HiRain, INTEST, Marelli, etc.

Advantages of Satellite Communication and T-Box Converged Products
Optimal cost and hardware: Reduce independent terminals and duplicate components, simplifies structure and wiring, with outstanding cost performance for large-scale mass production.
Unified and reusable architecture: Multiplex T-Box automotive-grade power supply, HSM security, CAN/LIN interfaces, and automotive software systems, with stronger adaptability and compliance.
Continuous and reliable experience: Supports intelligent switching and redundant backup of satellite-terrestrial networks, ensuring full-area online status with better latency and stability.
Efficient and flexible deployment: Rapid iteration based on existing T-Box platforms, adapting to global frequency bands and satellite constellations, shortening mass production cycles.
Olaf Eckart, Senior Expert of R&D Cooperation at BMW, stated: "Our core message is that satellite communication must be integrated with 3GPP-based terrestrial networks." The most relevant spectrum bands are below 6GHz, NB-IoT, and 5G NR NTN, so existing terrestrial network equipment can be multiplexed with "reasonable modifications". This indicates that in-vehicle satellite communication products that multiplex existing vehicle equipment have huge advantages.
A tiered structure has formed among mainstream manufacturers laying out in-vehicle satellite communication T-Box. In addition to domestic terminal solution providers such as GosuncnWelink, INTEST, FIH Mobile, and One IOT World, international Tier-1 suppliers including LGE and Harman are also promoting the launch of related products simultaneously.
Looking ahead, converged T-Box solutions will generally evolve toward 3GPP-standardized NTN (Non-Terrestrial Networks) instead of relying solely on dedicated satellite communication protocols, realizing deep compatibility of satellite-terrestrial networks based on specifications such as 5G NR NTN and NB-IoT NTN, which is also a key technical path for large-scale deployment of in-vehicle satellite communication.
